FreeOnline ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) online to all high school students and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Test.  It will offer self-paced units based on the instructional plans created for the summer ExPreSS Program.

IMPORTANT GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION TEST (GHSGT) INFORMATION

Parents,

Starting on March 22nd 2010 through March 25th 2010, all juniors will be taking the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT). Also, seniors needing to pass one or more portions of the GHSGT will have their last opportunity to take the test to graduate in May. In order to receive a high school diploma, students must pass all five areas of the test. The areas are writing, language arts, math, science, and social studies. We have offered many resources this year at Cross Creek for our students to be successful on these mandated tests. Students have had the opportunity to attend Saturday school, Razorback Express (GHSGT prep. after school), Wednesday preparation during advisement/homeroom, and targeted pull out sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays in math and language arts. During this last week of preparation, we are asking for your assistance. Please encourage your child to attend Razorback Express, Saturday school (March 20th, 2010), and take the on-line practice tests utilizing the web site http://www.usatestprep.com.

We have eight days to prepare. Please discuss the upcoming tests with your child and the importance of taking the GHSGT seriously and taking advantage of the resources available.
