RCSS announces its 14th Annual Holiday Round Ball Classic basketball tournament on Friday, December 26th through Monday, December 29th at the HEAL Complex on the Paine College Campus. Play begins each day at 10:30 AM.

RCSS shows increase in Academic Growth and Achievement
Thirty-seven (37) elementary, middle and high schools in the Richmond County School System (RCSS) demonstrated overall growth of 10.7 percentage points according to the recently released College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores this year.
Announcing the new Cyber Security Pathway
The Richmond and Columbia County School Systems along with local industries worked together to develop the curriculum for the Cyber Security pathway. Two courses, Introduction to Cyber Security and Advanced Cyber Security, were approved by the State Board of Education for public review. The review period of 60 days will end in mid-February.
FreeOnline ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) online to all high school students and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Test.

NJROTC - The Cross Creek Rifle team finished the season 14th overall in the nation and Austin Poythress ended his marksmanship career 14th out of the over 80,000 marksman that began the year. The team competed in numerous rifle tournaments and won all of them. They began the season by winning the Navy League Rifle Tournament in North Augusta, defeating several top ranked teams in the Marine, Army, and Navy JROTC programs. In all Area 12 tournaments, Cross Creek took 1st place setting many team and individual school records in the process. They culminated their season by winning the school's first Area 12 Championships (Georgia and Northern Florida).
DECA Club - Brianna Beach, a senior, is the recipient of the 2014 National DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award. This award recognizes students studying marketing, finance, hospitality, and management for being an academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leader through participation in DECA. This is awarded to seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better. She is one of 10 in Georgia to receive this award. Brianna is also a Social Media Reporter for National DECA's on-line magazine and was chosen as one of two interns for Cybis Productions during the recent state leadership conference. CROSS CREEK MARKSMEN RETURN TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Our NJROTC Rifle Team recently won the Area 12 Rifle Championships in Anniston, Alabama. to earn a position at the 2014 NJROTC Air Rifle Championships this week back in Anniston. This will be the second year in a row for the cadets from Cross Creek competing at the national level and the fifth time in the past 7 years. The cadets will be returning to Anniston, Alabama for the Navy National Championships with hopes of moving on to Ohio for the All Services National Championships in March. The team members are (from L to R), Ilea Smalley, Katelyn Martin, Neva Philp, Austin Poythress, Jarrett Hutchens and Nina Rhodes.

Dr. Moore receives Parent Teacher Student Association Charter for Cross Creek High School from Cynthia Scott, PTSA Regional Representative. Cross Creek is the only high school in Richmond County that has a PTSA.
